Confessions of a Prodigal Son
Paul Lloyd Robson
Foreword by Jonathan Pageau
The book
The parable of the prodigal son is usually read in a few minutes. Living it took me most of my adult life. I left the faith of my childhood and set out after freedom, success and spiritual experience, and for a while each of them seemed to deliver.
This book is a confession, not a success story. It tells the far country as it was: the ambition, the borrowed spiritualities, the brotherhoods that promised everything, and the men I followed and the ones I failed. It tells, too, the moment a man "comes to himself", and the long, unglamorous walk home.
Home turned out to be the Church, a marriage, children, and a farm on Fyn. Not as a reward, but as the place a son is received.
“This is a story of a man who has found what is calling all men to life: a life of virtue. I invite you to discover with him what is possible in manhood.”
Jonathan Pageau, Founder of The Symbolic World
