Genesis: Your First Daily Habit

Heading out on a long journey, we often only have a vague idea of the “promised land” of the final destination. That is ok. What is most important is knowing where I want to get to today.

When you signed up for Core, then we promised a simple three step process:

  1. Formulate Your Purpose
  2. Set Goals
  3. Establish Daily Habits

What we are going to do here is to reverse engineer that process – we are going to start with the habit, and then work our way up to the goals and purpose.

So the exercises here are aimed at helping you to get a handle on that first habit you will be working to establish. This is to make sure that you get a good start with action on the most simple basics and get moving in the right direction as quickly as possible.

It is important that this habit you chose is something that:

  • you are absolutely certain you can achieve
  • will make a positive difference in your life
  • can be defined clearly and without confusion

For most men, it makes a lot of sense to pick something simple and basic, a foundational habit that you can do every day that you know creates a good starting point for the rest of the day.
